Philips Healthcare Australasia Scientific Paper Prize

Criteria:

Eligible candidates must be a student member of the RANZCR College or a Fellow of the College who has held his/her initial specialist qualification for not more than four years. Applicants names to be sent to RANZCR Radiology Education Officer for membership status confirmation closer to the event

Award/Prize:

Philips Healthcare Australasia has kindly donated a cash prize of $2000 as well as a return economy class airfare to The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR) 2011 Annual Scientific Meeting in Melbourne, Victoria.

Judging Process:

Two RANZCR representatives determined by the Organising Committee evaluate "best Scientific Paper Presentation" by a student member of the College, or a Fellow of the College who has held his/her initial specialist qualification for not more than four years.

Varian Prize

Radiation Oncology Oral Presentation

Criteria:

Radiation Oncology College Student Member.

Applicants names to be sent to RANZCR Radiation Oncology Education Officer for membership status confirmation closer to the event.

Award/Prize:

Since 1984, the firm of Varian has kindly donated an annual monetary prize and a plaque to be awarded for the best scientific paper prepared and presented by a Student Member in the Radiation Oncology section of the Scientific Program of the ASM. Varian has kindly donated a cash prize of $1,250. The prize will be judged on the following criteria; originality, hypothesis generation, methodology, amount of work undertaken, analysis of results, presentation, clinical importance and response to questions. The abstract should include an indication of the background/hypothesis, methods/patients involved and results and conclusions.

Judging Process:

FRO Representative from the Organising Committee to determine after speaking with PFEC Representative*.

* Some prizes require judging to be done with the Chief Censor in Radiation Oncology.

Toshiba Scientific Paper Presentation Prize

Toshiba (Australia) has kindly donated a valuable prize for the most outstanding contribution to the Scientific Paper Presentations at the CSM. The prize consists of a return economy class airfare and 6 night's accommodation to enable the winner to attend RSNA in 2011.

Judging Process:

Two RANZCR representatives determined by the Organising Committee evaluate "most outstanding contribution to the Scientific Paper Presentation at the meeting".

Judging Process:

Two RANZCR representatives determined by the Organising Committee evaluates down to 10 finalists. The Chief Censor of Radiology and an RANZCR Organising Committee member then evaluate to a winner for the "most outstanding contribution to the Scientific Exhibit Presentation at the meeting".

Elekta Pty Ltd Australia has kindly agreed to provide the recipient with $2000 towards registration and travel expenses to attend either ASTRO or ESTRO in 2011. In addition Elekta Pry Ltd Australia will also present the recipient with an Award Trophy and a Bottle of Grange (year to be determined).

Novartis Oncology has kindly donated $1,000 to be awarded to the best scientific paper prepared for the Annual Scientific Meeting.

Judging Process:

Two RANZCR representatives will be determined by the Organising Committee, after discussion with the PFEC Representative* who will then evaluate all submissions for "Best clinical outcomes in breast cancer therapy".
